In 1997, Victoria magazine named Marty their Artist-in-Residence, opening a window into her life and work for readers across the country. It's fitting company for the daughter of Emily Whaley, the late, much-loved Charleston gardener and author, because Marty's roots in the garden run just as deep as her roots in art.
